NAV CANADA: Magnetic to True North, Change by 2030

As we are all well aware, Magnetic North is our main reference for aircraft navigation today. There is interest, however, in making a transition to an aviation heading and track system based on TRUE NORTH instead. This, it is thought could lead to improved safety and reduced costs. One organisation that is leading the efforts to create an internationally aligned strategy for this transition is Nav Canada. We will hear about their work in Canada and internationally to manage a transition to TRUE NORTH - a one-time worldwide effort which they see will benefit aviation safety, efficiency and costs for operators, airports and States into the future.
