Travel Document Integrity and Border Control
This Session will provide an overview of the standardized implementation of Machine-Readable Travel
Documents (MRTDs) and electronic MRTDs (eMRTDs), along with a global approach to deploying new
technologies for identity verification and border control. Discussions will explore innovative solutions
for optimizing the issuance and inspection of travel documents in line with ICAO Doc 9303
specifications. The session will also address strategies to reduce congestion at departure and arrival
control points and examine new paradigms for leveraging technology to streamline passenger and crew
processing throughout their journey.
