This Skytalk aims at increasing States awareness in advance of the November 2020 applicability date of the ICAO methodology for assessing and reporting runway surface conditions. This new methodology, commonly known as the Global Reporting Format (GRF), ensures a harmonized assessment and reporting of runway surface conditions, enabling an improved assessment of take-off and landing performance by flight crew. A focus will be placed upon the importance of States’ planning, the need to ensure awareness and provide training.
