Traveller Identification Programme (TRIP)
TRIP 2024 - Day 3 - Session 6 - Innovation and Seamless Travel
1h 31m
ICAO is continuing its work in the field of Digital Travel Credentials (DTC) in support of the overarching and traditional objective of achieving eMRTD global interoperability. Critical to the deployment of DTC solutions around the globe will be the continued efforts on ensuring that eMRTD validation techniques – including data authentication and clone detection – continue to grow. The data collected at border control during eMRTD inspection regarding defects in the ICAO Private/Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) cryptography and digital signatures should be applied to continuously improve the ICAO eMRTD trust framework. Speakers will address topics related to DTC pilot projects and related use of wallets in smart devices and the requisite interoperability, defect lists for eMRTDs and barcodes, as well as eMRTD authentication practices.
Moderator: R. Rajeshkumar, International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Working Group 3 Convenor, ICAO TAG/TRIP New Technologies Working Group (NTWG).
• ICAO DTC: Digitizing the ePassport: Dion Chamberlain, New Zealand, Chair, Implementation and Capacity Building Working Group (ICBWG).
• DTC Pilot – Lessons Learned: Anouk Cartrysse, Research and Development Advisor, National Office for Identity Data, Ministry of Interior and Kingdom Relations, Netherlands.
• DTC Pilot and Defect Management – Crucial when Using DTC and or ABC: Mika Hansson, Finland.
