This session will focus on the ICAO driven developments to resolve interoperability issues caused by non-standardized “eVisas” and health certificates, as well as non-standardized barcodes as such. The session will explain the existing terminologies for visas and travel authorizations, followed by an update from the European Union regarding the deployment of the EU electronic travel authorization, ICAO’s development of a standardized and interoperable barcode based on the existing global trust framework, the challenges faced by airlines when dealing with non-standardized visa, as well as extended protection measures for accessing secondary biometrics.
