This session will set the stage for the Symposium by highlighting recent accomplishments across the Facilitation environment – from Annex 9, the TRIP Strategy and the Public Key Directory (PKD) in terms of promoting traveler clearance through international borders and protecting border security. The speakers will provide information on recent developments in Annex 9 – Facilitation, updates from the work items of the TAG/TRIP and its working groups, information regarding the implementation of ICAO Annex 9 SARPs supporting the TRIP Roadmap, in particular those related to ICAO Doc 9303, Machine Readable Travel Documents, as well as steps to promote a safe and seamless traveler journey.
