Targeted Exemptions (TEs) are tightly scoped and time-limited State-issued exemptions to a specified subset of Standards granted as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. To support States in the transition to normal operations, ICAO launched the TE system in April 2021 through the Roadmap to OPS Normal website. This allows a State to determine the acceptability of a TE based on the comprehensive information collected in a standardized format from the issuing State, and facilitate foreign operator inspections as necessary. It will also identify whether TEs granted by an issuing State are acceptable within the territory of another State. This 3-minute video provides a brief overview of how Civil Aviation Authorities(CAAs) can use TE webpages to get the information they need about Targeted Exemptions. The video, from the CAAs' perspective, presents the concept of TE, the difference between the TEs system and the EFOD system, TE Submission, TE acceptability, and TE dashboards information.
