The Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications of Chile, Gloria Hutt, highlights two central aspects of discussion for this Conference: liberalization and facilitation of air transport, both as challenges and opportunities in the face of future pandemics or global emergencies. Bearing in mind the importance of logistics networks in the provision of goods and health supplies, it is essential to encourage international connectivity through the promotion of multilateral agreements, especially in cargo transport, and to deepen facilitation to speed up the safe movement of people and goods. The lessons learned along this crisis must be transformed into concrete policies for the future.
La ministra de Transportes y Telecomunicaciones de Chile, Gloria Hutt, destaca dos aspectos centrales de discusión para esta Conferencia: la liberalización y la facilitación del transporte aéreo, como desafíos y oportunidades frente a futuras pandemias o emergencias de alcance mundial. Teniendo presente la importancia de las redes logísticas en el suministro de bienes e insumos sanitarios, es fundamental incentivar la conectividad internacional mediante la promoción de acuerdos multilaterales, especialmente en transporte de carga, y profundizar la Facilitación para agilizar el movimiento seguro de personas y mercancías. Las lecciones aprendidas en esta crisis deben transformarse en políticas concretas hacia el futuro.
