ICAO created The Global Campaign on NOTAM Improvement to increase the quality vs. the quantity of NOTAM in global air transportation. Alex Pufhal, Technical Officer for Information Management at ICAO, is joined by guest speakers from, across the industry and ICAO's seven regional offices to discuss the safety impact this poses in global aviation. With 20% of NOTAM considered old and still in circulation, the objective is to eliminate them from air space so flight crews, dispatchers, and aircraft operators won't overlook critical information. With this causing significant safety concerns, working together and raising awareness is at the forefront of ICAO's global campaign to make way for a safer, more efficient system.
