Licensing in the Time of COVID-19

The Chicago Convention and Annex 1 define that holders of a licence such as pilots have to carry a valid document to prove their continuous proficiency. Today many licence holders are unable to keep their licences valid in accordance with the requirements in place due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Therefore Contracting States issue exemptions to support stakeholders.
This Webinar explains how ICAO supports the States with their alleviation measures and provide recommendations how the individuals can prepare for the return to normal operations.
Speaker: Gerda Pardatscher joined ICAO on 1 April 2019 as the Technical Officer for Personnel Licensing. Before joining ICAO, she was the Senior Expert for aircrew licensing at the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). Prior to that, she held the position as the Manager for Personnel Licensing at the National Aviation Authority of Austria.
