Speaker: Manuel Caballero
The Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) was adopted by the ICAO Assembly in 2016 as the global market-based measure to address CO₂ emissions from the international aviation sector.
This SkyTalk provides an overview of the CORSIA implementation framework, whose development and maintenance have made implementation of the scheme a reality since 1 January 2019. The SkyTalk also provides up-to-date information on the status of CORSIA implementation, on the support provided to States through the ICAO Assistance, Capacity Building and Training programme (ACT-CORSIA), and on main conclusions of the ICAO Council’s Report to the 42nd Session of the ICAO Assembly on the 2025 CORSIA periodic review.
