At the 39th Session of the ICAO Assembly, States adopted the CORSIA to complement a broader basket of measures to achieve the global aspirational goal of carbon-neutral growth from 2020 onwards. In an unprecedented short period of time ICAO developed CORSIA Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs). The new Volume IV of Annex 16 was adopted by the ICAO Council in June 2018, and became applicable on 1 January 2019. This Skytalk will provide an overview of the global effort to implement CORSIA, including the provision of assistance through the ACT-CORSIA buddy partnerships Programme. The Skytalk will also outline the next steps to be taken to ensure that CORSIA implementation remains on track and successful.
