Presented by Indra/Startical
Speaker: Mr. Jose Luis Chinchilla
The air traffic sector is growing rapidly, and the optimal airways that reduce time and fuel consumption are determined. Additionally, sudden variations are required in those routes due mainly to weather issues.
In ocean and remote areas, current systems have limitations in increasing the capacity, flexibility, and efficiency of these routes. A combined solution of ADS-B and VHF from space could quickly remedy these limitations by not requiring changes to aircraft avionics or current infrastructure.
Startical is developing a satellite constellation solution specifically for ATM and has successfully completed the first VHF communications in history, both Voice and Data from a satellite in LEO orbit between pilots/controllers (voice) and between the cockpit/control position (Datalink).
