Session 10 – Sustainable Horizons: Navigating Air Cargo’s Green Transition

The air cargo industry is accelerating its green transition, driven by
sustainability goals and a commitment towards decarbonization across its
value chain. While developments in Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF), fuelefficient aircraft, innovations in unmanned air cargo operations, challenges
abound with growing e-commerce demand, and fleet ages of passenger-tofreighter conversions. As demand for air freight grows, improving efficiency
whilst ensuring environmental sustainability remains a top priority.
This session will address the urgent need for environmental sustainability in
air cargo, its opportunities and challenges, and aligning with ICAO global
regulatory frameworks and objectives such as the Long-Term Aspirational
Goal (LTAG) and CORSIA. It will explore practical strategies for reducing the
international aviation industry's carbon footprint, incorporating SSAF and
other aviation cleaner energies, enhancing operational efficiencies, and
leveraging innovative technologies.
