Session 7: Accelerating Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Production & Deployment
1h 17m
This session will focus on strategies and practical steps to accelerate the production and deployment of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), lower carbon aviation fuel (LCAF) and other aviation cleaner energies to achieve the global aspirational Vision of 5% CO2 emissions reduction from international aviation by 2030, as agreed by the third ICAO Conference on Aviation and Alternative Fuels (CAAF/3), contributing to the achievement of the ICAO’s long-term aspirational goal (LTAG) of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Discussions will address current SAF production capacities, identifying investment needs, and navigating national policies and ICAO regulatory frameworks. Experts will highlight best practices and global strategies, emphasizing the importance of collaboration among stakeholders under the ICAO's Assistance, Capacity-building and Training for SAF (ACT-SAF) programme in facilitating technical assistance to drive SAF development and investment opportunities.
