COVID-19 Webinar Series

14-May-2020
The successful management of the COVID-19 pandemic requires the assessment and management of risks that extend beyond the boundaries of managing aviation safety risks as defined in Annex 19 — Safety Management. Civil aviation authorities (CAAs) need to understand their role in supporting the mitigations being put in place to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and providing flexibility to the aviation industry facing unprecedented challenges.
This webinar highlights how CAAs, regardless of their level of implementation or maturity of their State safety programme (SSP), should use safety management principles to support their decision making in order to manage the aviation safety risks, which fall under their responsibility, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Presenter: Ms. Elizabeth Gnehm, Program Coordinator, Safety Management Programme at ICAO.
Originally presented 14 May 2020.
