This briefing offers an overview of the ICAO Committee on Aviation and Environmental Protection (CAEP) Report that Explores the Feasibility of a Long-term Aspirational Goal for International Civil Aviation CO2 Emission Reductions (LTAG). Following a request by the 40th Session of the Assembly, ICAO made significant efforts to analyse the technical feasibility of aviation in sector CO2 reduction scenarios from aircraft technologies, operational improvements, and use of fuels and clean energy sources. This presentation outlines the approach, methodology, and high-level results and observations of the LTAG analysis.
