Having just concluded the FlyZero project and published more than 60 reports on hydrogen for aviation, the UK’s Aerospace Technology Institute is very well placed to update the Air Navigation Commission on the technical and operational considerations of hydrogen as a potential alternative aviation fuel for the future. In this ANC Talk, the Commission will hear from ATI about its work to anticipate the real challenges that a move to hydrogen would pose - not just for aircraft design but also for the wider infrastructure. This should help the Commission to consider what regulatory environment might be needed to safely introduce hydrogen-fuelled operations and what this might mean for ICAO’s work on future international standards.
